The compsci final project. A group endeavor that was nothing short insanely trying but rewarding work on. The result is pretty good for roughly two weeks effort IMO (with most of that effort in the last week, err 5 days,) especially since it’s Java therefore isn’t the most glamorous setup for this kind of thing.

Billards, Burgers and Bomber Girls.

Ok, so I basically did nothing today (as in Saturday.) Well, I read the manga I bought yesterday.
But Friday was eventful.
Got some new manga at Anime Kingdom (Nana, Bleach, Full Moon, Fruits Basket, Keroro Gunso, Kare Kano and Midori’s Days.) I went to Starbucks (repeatedly,) chatted with friends, went to Chili’s with friends, got dripped on by Chili’s broken ceiling, bought cheap manga at Half Price Books (Bomber Girl – vapid and fanservicey, but it brings balance to the heavy shoujo stuff – besides, it’s out of print now, and it was a silly little read in Raijin Weekly Comics back in the day, so why not.) Then I wandered around Tukwila looking for a bowling alley that’s also a billards place, and I eventually found it (stopped into Target for Advil and Powerade first. Then, I got my butt soundly kicked all but once (and that was dumb luck.)
Oh yeah, today wasn’t totally uneventful – I got myself running litestep and boy it’s come a long way since the old days. I’m using a very, very stripped down theme, and outside needing a clock that’s not stuck in the launch menu (I’ll find something I can embed on to the desktop,) I’m loving it. Much lower system load than Explorer (which is great, especially since I’m waiting on Kingston to hook me up with fresh RAM under their lifetime warrenty, though I suppose they might stick me on it since I put those RAM heatsinks on. Cept I never OC’d the stuff and they broke with out my stupidity helping it along.)
Anyway, on a less “boring-everyday-life-noone-cares-about” note, I’ve gotten things underway for reprinting the first nerdcore cd. It’ll be even nicer than the last batch when it comes to print quality, and all that, and it’ll probably be available either just before or just after Xmas. Also once class is done for the year, I will get those collaborations I need for my CD resolved in some fashion, some how.

Huge thanks goes out to my mom for coming along on this insane journey.
Huge thanks goes out to KnuxFive from TZ for getting me a Gameboy (Original) w/ Tetris for my birthday.

really expensive black t-shirts with the Revision 4920 art on them.
Actually, I’m probably going to buy one of those bad boys myself. Way too tempting not to.

Basically, I decided the old theme was gratuitously image intensive, so I found one that wasn’t. Took a bit of modification to become something useful, but I got it there. Yay. 😀

Fun things done recently:
-Hit Kinokuniya, Bought Dengeki Daioh Dec. Issue.
-Watched “Mindgame” @ BCC Anime Club.
-Went to Denny’s w/ BCC crew. Hilarity ensued.
-Interviewed various animation peoples for podcast.
-Watched new HP movie.
Actually, I’ve got to say I’m not particularly overjoyed with the new HP flick. I mean, it’s good, it’s just not excellent. Some how the books are just more magical.

CN is the New MTV

Remember when MTV ran music videos? And I mean, not ran them all the time, but also ran a wide variety of them? All sorts of genres and visual styles and from pretty much anywhere English was intelligible? Remember how it all started with one non-music show, and before you knew it, they were garbage 24/7, including the few music videos they aired? The M doesn’t even mean anything any more.
Cartoon Network (CN) is the new MTV. This is because they’ve just announced that they’ll be running 3 effectively live action films through out November: Small Soldiers, Honey I Shrunk The Kids and The Goonies. Now, I won’t call them bad movies (ok, Small Soldiers is meh, but Honey I Shrunk The Kids and The Goonies are enjoyable,) but they have absolutely no business being on a Cartoon Network. And maybe if no one watches it, they’ll see the error of their ways. Actually, they’ll probably just keep running them even they get horrible ratings (and they’ll probably do passably.) And if it’s successful, well, pretty soon I’ll be saying the same thing about CN that I said about MTV.

All sorts of genres and visual styles from pretty much anywhere as long as it had an English audio track? Remember how it all started with a few live-action movies, and before you knew it, they were garbage 24/7, including the few animated series they aired? The C doesn’t even mean anything any more.
Or atleast it won’t soon enough.
