My younger fans might want to skip this one…

Ultraklystron feat. Nursehella & Baddd Spellah – Shoujo n’ Shonenlyrics

Yeah, it’s a little sexually charged relative to, well, anything else I’ve ever done, so those of you out there who don’t want to hear myself and Nursehella talk about which anime characters we think are attractive, even though it’s a very playful and silly song, should just skip this. Those hoping for a return to songs with out any romantic content can take solace in the fact that there are plenty of bonus songs on Romance Language, and that Opensource Lyricist is very devoid of romance. Both releases are still filled with comedy, emo and straight-up nerdcore playa spirit (whatever that is,) and both are basically a few vocal re-records away from completion, so hopefully early 2007 will be a good time for Ultaklystron fans with songs for everyone (well, as long as they are nerds.)

Oh, and speaking of stuff my younger fans can’t enjoy, looks like I have another gig lined up at Fuel, and it’s sooner than my previous gig (January 19th.) I really hope I can do some all-ages stuff in the future though, cause I know I have a lot of fans that are under 21. For the moment though, I guess have to take the work I can get.

“You Get Sprung” – Sir Mix-A-Lot

I am taking this quote entirely out of context to mention that yet again, Boing Boing is showing love to Nerdcore, very specifically, the upcoming gigs in Vegas. Maybe this will never get mainstream ink, but if it keeps getting Nerd press, that maybe all it needs.

Hectic Holidays

The weeks in between my last post and this post have certainly been a little busy, but very interesting. After all, between multiple power outages, getting slashdotted with my nerdcore compatriots, escaping said power-outages by staying with my best friend, getting booked for a second show in Vegas, getting booked for a show in Seattle, and working on my album all the while (though it just received a big assist thanks to a certain producer/beatsmith,) literally come hell or high water as even my basement threatened to flood, I’d be a liar if I said the last couple weeks were uneventful.

However, as the year winds to a close, things are looking up. I do have 3 gigs in the new year, more than any year prior, two documentaries about Nerdcore are coming out, I have 2 great albums nearing release with another in the pipes, and I finally have a girl I love and care about with everything I have because I trust her and just being with her is wonderful. I know where I want to continue my college education, I know what I want from my music and in general, I’ve never had a greater sense of clarity of what I want from life, or at least the paths available to me have been so clearly delineated for me. I mean, I still have multiple options in my life, and they are arguably very disparate. However, I feel like I can pursue all of them – I finally have that confidence.

So, Happy Holidays everyone, whatever that holiday may be.

It might have something to with Boing Boing linking the nerdcore documentary trailer. Hurrah for horrible puns and free publicity!

We ain’t goin’ nowhere. We cannot be stopped ’cause we are Nerdcore For Life:

So yeah, the Nerdcore For Life trailer is out. Look out for me doing all the nerdy things you’d expect me to do be doing, and note that even some of my friends made the trailer (and not just nerdcore friends, like friends from Anime Kingdom friends.)

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

Normally stuff like getting towed because I parked in an area you apparently can’t park at between certain hours would leave me dismayed and panicked. However, with my girlfriend, it was OK. I knew I’d get through it without much in the way of a hassle because she’s smart, cool and collected in these kind of situations (well, she’s always smart, cool and collected.) Heck, because we’d parked there, we had a fun time singing MC Frontalot’s “Crime Spree” in public, (not because we noticed the parking rules, but because we were worried about feeding the meter ironically enough,) and while we waited for one of her friends to pick us up and drive us to the impound lot, we goofed around with her cellphone camera at bus stop. Besides, the place we were parking for was this awesome mall loaded with great Asian stores, including multiple anime shops and great import fashion stores. For a day that could have been miserable, it rocked instead.

In less sappy news, I’m back in Seattle, and I’m going to be putting the final touches on my CD within the week, hopefully.

Breaking and Entering.

Cool in a normal way: Enjoying great music and hilarious cartoons at an excellent friend’s house. I mean, coming into a house with a PS2 that has Aqua Teen Hunger Force already cued up is awesome, but breaking into singing songs from Beck’s One Foot For The Grave? That’s outstanding.

Cool in a not as normal way: The same friend also helped to fix my headlight in the parking lot of a Target. I probably couldn’t have done by myself, or atleast I was having a lot of trouble, and having that friend with me made it ok. Holding each others’ grease covered hands as we walked into the store just diffused any stress or worry about the whole problem.

Cool in a completely bizarre way: Getting locked out of said friend’s house, and thus having to work with this friend to get back in, namely by breaking and entering in through a thankfully open window. I will never, ever forget that because even though for a second it was very worrisome, it was all ok and even funny in a sweet, silly way. I mean, I know I have had things like this happen before, but this is the first time that it was somehow ok.

Just plain cool: Sharing a lovely car ride up with said friend after a brilliantly lovely weekend. Being in love is a fantastic thing. Almost too intense sometimes, but that’s probably what makes it real. I mean, shared interests are one thing, but having similarities like making little castles out of the creamer cups that came with coffee when you were little? Connections and similarities like that are surreal, but wonderful and powerfully special.

/days blog has gone w/o emo sappiness: 0.

Apparently, It Is My Birthday.

I am now 23.

Anyway, here is a picture of my new mp3 player. Not technically a birthday present per se, but I’m counting it as one anyway:

only $100 for a 40GB mp3 player

I also have a Lite-On LightScribe DVD burner headed my way, which will hopefully be here before the weekend. Yay for self-produced CDs and such.

Video of Nerdcore Renagade Show @ PS3 Best Buy Line

It’s hard to rap when it’s cold, but I still sold CDs. It contains 4 songs – 2 off revision, 2 off Opensource, some between set banter and some working out mix issues while rapping. At least the crowd dug it by the time all was said and done, not only buying CDs as mentioned before, but so much so they even asked me to autograph their CDs without prompting from me and they brought me two water bottles too so I could keep rapping. As such, I had fun too. Hopefully the fellow shooting the documentary about waiting in line for a PS3 will have some footage up eventually as well, because that’d be awesome.
