A DJ Mix

a very late 1990s-like album cover

Download It Here.

Why? Because I can. Also, it features a song (and a bit) at the end that was originally intended for Haven (the and-a-bit was meant to be on Solace) but that I cut do to time constraints, and that I then forgot about until recently. Thus, a DJ mix is born. Btw, the song at the end is named “Maho” after a character from Onegai Teacher. Almost makes me think I could/should to an EP/LP of Drum n’ Bass tracks named after characters from harem anime, but on the other hand, I do have other stuff to do, like rehearse.

Last Night At The Improv

Or rather, last nights improv with electronic music producer Synthead who coincidentally is the brother of a good friend of mine, Lucy. Lucy also recorded on a Sony digital camera said improv which started lol money tribute, but soon veered into other territory:

Honestly, this is not a rick roll, though maybe I should have done that too.

My contribution is admittedly problematic at points (over-referential flow style,) but Synthead lays down some sick beats and synths. Definitely fun, and something I should probably do again. Maybe with more freestyle and less cover lyrics. Might keep the Lil Wayne flow though – it’s fun.

Mega-Ran (aka Random,) nerdcore rapper extraordinaire and podcastman (yes, that’s a new made up word! use it annoy your friends who hate internet buzz words,) has fashioned a podcast featuring an interview Nerdcore Godfather, the honorable don MC Frontalot. Why is this of note beyond the obvious reasons? Because it also features music from me, namely “Five to Nine.” I recommend that people go for the Frontalot, and stay for the great podcastman (see, just like that) personalities, and top notch music selection which also includes luminaries like Beefy, YT Cracker and other people who are more talented than me (or are at least equivalently talented.)

Two updates, in one day? Impossible! But yet, here we are as now Nerdcore For Life (aka the documentary about various nerdcore rappers than mostly about nerdcore godfather, MC Frontalot,) has premiered to the world, in the heart of America, Wisconsin. Here is a link to the relevant data and some reviews. Note the scans of print articles with my face in them. Yeah, it’s humbling. Maybe even unsettling. Mostly awesome though.

Edit/PS: The wordpress has been updated again. Hopefully I can make use of the gallery function sometime soon.

Time for another Opensource Lyricist sighting, this time leading off Hi-Sci-Fi (a great radio show that interviewed me last year at SakuraCon, and whose co-host, Jevon Ryan, bought Opensource off of me at SakuraCon this year,) with my emo-tastic song “Hikikomori.” If you have not heard said song, here is an opportunity to do so.

Also, apparently, I’m “a cool guy” according to Jevon which explains the headline. Well, that and memes.

Anyways, I also want to thank everyone who said my cover EP was good/great/etc. Perhaps I shall return to that field at some point in the future.

Something Old, Something New

Something Borrowed.

A cover EP namely. Some old covers (including a remastered rarity,) and some very fresh stuff (try recorded earlier this week.)

Anyways, I’m just happy to get it done and out there. Some of those songs had been sitting for half a year or so, it’s nice to get it all out and collected.

Feelin’ Burned Out, Feelin’ Burned Out*

*=To the tune of “Get Ya Burners Out” by Chamillionaire

Anyways, the site’s back up (hosting was moving locations,) though it might be down again as I’ve recently procured a server which hopefully will end up in a rack soon. Nekodashi might even be back up in the foreseeable future as a result.

Meanwhile, the first review of Nerdcore For Life documentary is in, and it’s pretty good. Can’t wait to see the actual doc in the future.

Oh, and I’ve been totally exhausted lately. Way too much running around and staying up late. I think I might be getting to old for this. 😉

I think he likes it. Maybe. BTW, if you know of reviews of my CD, then them to me, so I can post them on the site. Especially if they are very bad reviews. 🙂
