I am taking this quote entirely out of context to mention that yet again, Boing Boing is showing love to Nerdcore, very specifically, the upcoming gigs in Vegas. Maybe this will never get mainstream ink, but if it keeps getting Nerd press, that maybe all it needs.

• So, are there any major labels(or even major indie labels) looking at Nerdcore seriously? Basically, will Jay-Z sign you to Def Jam any time soon? :p

• Yes, as mc chris has been in talks with labels of various sizes during the past couple years, and I’ve heard that MC Frontalot’s came close to getting picked up by Capitol a few years ago, so maybe if the industry can look at this as a scene, and thus something that can be handled as a group of artists rather than individual artists, you might get a label that thinks “we’ll start a nerdcore imprint, sign best artists of the genre, and work from there because then we have enough for a tour and so on.”
