self-reflective mashups / rapidchar

Point 1: Long after mash ups are edgy, I have knocked out a mash-up EP after a whole weekend of work (why yes, it is every dodgy in quality, but as a work I like it. It flows nicely from start to finish, and the end segues eerily well into the beginning without having intended that.) Even better still, rather than mashing up two artists that people thing are cool, it’s me mashing myself up with music I like from Beck, Bjork, The Smashing Pumpkins and Veruca Salt. At a whole 6 songs long though, it’s nice demo of what one can do with Acid’s beatmapping, some acapellas and more time than sense.
Grab it off Megaupload before the RIAA does.
Point 2: Rapidshares are now up on nekodashi. They aren’t a premium account, so they’ll die after 10 downloads though. Oh well.

Trippy. I dig it though, for some weird reason.

Wow, where do you find the time? I’m busy just keeping my “complete collection” up to date 🙂

Did you re-sing/re-rap anything or were those vocal alterations all done in software?
Comment by a fan — March 2, 2009 @ 9:43 pm
Every vocal tweak was redone in software, just like with normal mashups. Fun stuff.

Neat. I guess I haven’t listened to enough mashups to know what’s normal. I’ve listened to a few in the past gave up on them. Mainly because they seemed like two songs … um … mashed up. However you seem to have created something that’s more of a blend. The Bjork & Beck ones are my favs.

I loved it. I’m a fan of the all bands you mashed up with. Like chocolate and peanut butter, great together. I LOVED the Bjork track…awesome.

to Tom & Fan: Glad you guys dug it. Nice to know some folks enjoyed the Bjork track. Considering how heavy Homogenic influences the sound of Romance Language, I knew that I had to do a mash on that tip.
to Antisoc: Thank you for mirroring it.

Karl, no problem… if you want me to host your entire back catalog, I would be happy to oblige. 🙂
Also, I’m really digging Spider Cay-kee – I like what you did with the chorus a lot.

[…] So I made a mash up EP in weekend earlier this year, and well, I got the itch again, so this time I made a mash up EP in 4 hours. I present, Ultraklystron – Redid The Mash: […]
